Why my one and a half months old healthy son died while sleeping?

He was healthy and growing fast, weighing about 3.5 kg., sleeping after having been fed by her mother who was sleeping besides him.

I’m so sorry for your loss, but there are some things in life that cannot be explained and it sounds like his is one of them. Have you tried seeking advice from a SIDS foundation or support group. Again i am so sorry for your loss and i will pray for you and your family!

I’m so sorry to hear about the death of your son. How horrible for you and your wife.
You may want to research SIDS or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. There is a website offering information here:

It was probably SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). It’s unexplainable really, and there’s nothing one can do to stop it. I lost a cousin to SIDS when I was 16. Here’s a web site that may help you, it explains it better than I can. I’m deeply sorry to hear about your loss.

Sorry about your loss. My mother is a maternity nurse and cot deaths are sometimes very shocking and surprisingly common. She has a theory that a new born baby forgets how to breathe since it is not 100% used to doing it. This usually happens within the first 3 months of life. After that, the danger lessens. I hope my answer helps you.

I’m very sorry to hear about your loss.
Unfortunately, despite tons of studies, there is no clear answer for SIDS. For more information as well as links for support and grief counseling, try the National SIDS/Infant Death Resource Center…

SIDS would be my guess as well. While it is far less likely to happen with a baby who is sleeping with an adult* because the baby’s movement will alert the adult to a problem and the adult’s breathing helps regulate the baby’s breathing, it does happen. My sympathy on your loss.
*assuming the adult is not sleeping heavily due to factors such as exhaustion, medications, or alcohol
